Joshua had the chance to sing at the tabernacle in St. George with the valley voices. They all did an awesome job. Especially MY boy! That building is such an awesome tribute to our pioneer ancestors. It was decorated beautifully that night. All of the prophets except Joseph Smith have spoken at this pulpit. What a great night!!

i realize some of you probably passed out when you realized i had posted on my blog!!

all i can say is "ME TOO"

miracles still happen.

We are all still alive although it has been a long while.

Josh is surviving senior year,

he went to winter formal and had a blast!

jeremy and justin are fabulous freshmen.

tennis was a blast for them, they love it!!

Amy is a 5th grader now.

she has such fun wherever she goes,

and hugs anything she can get her hands on!!(she is a lover and a fighter. LOL!

Kate is doing excellent in second grade.

her teacher is Bonnie Bowler.

She has a thousand friends and is a joy to be around.

dave is working for Fed Ex now and we hope to dig out of debt soon.

i have a new calling as the CTR 5 teacher in primary!!

i LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVe it sooo much!!!!!!!!

i will miss my little class in january, and am a little nervous about my new recruits( all 7 of em)

8th grade graduation

yesterday Jeremy and Justin had their commencement exercises.
It was a very nice time.
they both looked so grown up(and by grown up I mean TALL)
They each got the presidential achievement award,
and a personalized letter from president Obama.
I can't believe they will be at the high school next year.
It seems like just yesterday they were standing on each others backs
trying to get the videos off the top shelf.
In no time at all it will be graduation and mission farewells.
One can only hope.
TEENAGERS are one of life's GREATEST JOYS!!!!!

Amy's fourth grade class completed country reports the last few weeks.
Amy chose Italy and spent many hours gathering information.
She participated in a musical program on Wednesday,
a exhibit day on Thursday, where we got to see everyone's projects displayed.
And last but not least a buffet day today, where food from all the countries was showcased.
I made double chocolate biscotti, I think it turned out really good.
Needless to say I am so glad it is all over.
Look out summer here we come!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. That's all I can say.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that I can say a lot more than that.

The week before last I was pleased to lead the Moapa Valley High School Speech and Debate team through their fourth consecutive state championship title. I had a pretty sweet season even though my debate partner had to graduate last year and so the debate part didn't go exactly as I planned. I did however take a first and a second at a couple of tournaments in my debate despite having only fill in partners who ended up quitting the program all together since they couldn't handle the heat.

As you may or may not know Mr. Tusler (may he rest in peace) retired from about half a century of teaching at our high school and a couple thousand more years as an educator in various locations around the globe leaving the forensics team in well organized, talented, ambitious yet socially degrading shambles. The new coach hit mass opposition but through it all was able, with my help of course, to sail into the waters of victory we have grown so accostomed to.

I was able, throughout the season, to secure much desired hardware for the team as a champion at least at one tournament in each of my events. I desimated southern utah in duo interpretation of literature with my partner Josh Garlick as well as taking the third or fourth most competitive tournament of the year in that event while the risky humor we endorse only pulled a third at the state competition and failed to bring us into finals at the national qualifier. I'm still proud of our duo and as many have declared "it's actually the best performance but some judges just don't get it." oh, well. I also was able to secure a championship in original oratory at the Virgin Valley tournament destroying the bulldogs while letting them take the team trophy just to be nice in their home court. My oratory also took a risk as I evaluated the positive effects of gambling on our lives and its endorsement from the bible as well as Charles Darwin and our founding fathers. The state victory gave me a fourth in oratory and I made it into the finals at the national qualifier. I am most proud of my thematic Interpretation this year that secured me the top spot in clark county school district, which, because there is no thematic interpretation at state or nat quals, gave me the highest honor in reading prose and poetry out of a black binder. I am so proud of my baby that if you ever feel like it and it looks like I have my backpack around I will be more than willing to show her off. Over all we took the title and I am in full preperation for next year. I assure you that no animals were harmed in the making of the title or preperation for years to come and that only minimal human rights violations were commited in securing the pinnicle of success for a Moapa Valley speaker.

When she was born she weighed just 5 pounds.

One more step back in time!
Last month Amy turned 10.
I know, I know I can't believe it either!
She had such a great time!!
First we took her 2 friends~~Tori and Addie
to see High School Musical 3, Senior year.
then to the Ice cream shop for a tasty treat
which she promptly licked right off the cone(and onto the ground)
Don't cry for her Argentina! Mom went back inside for a new one!!
Then off to the park to play until dinnertime.

On Sunday we finished off the weekend festivities

She did not find the cure for cancer.
Tho she endured it more than once.

but she had amazing influence for good.

of others better by simply caring!!

NO~ WE HAVEN'T FALLEN OFF THE BIG BLUE MARBLE!!!
Life does seem to move along way to fast though.
Where does the time go???
Everyone at our house is busy busy busy!
Jeremy and Justin tried out for and made
middle school Jazz band.
They are out of the house an hour earlier
which is hard for them but kinda nice for us.
Josh is always going a thousand different directions
with Jazz, Forensics, Work, Girls and a reputation to uphold
we would expect nothing else.
Kate is just loving first grade
she told me yesterday that the teacher had
her grading other kids math packets
to pass the time.
Amy is as cute as ever
she loves her teacher and seems to be doing well
getting her to practice piano is a little rough though.
I cant believe she turns 10 at the end of this month.
before we know it she'll be in young womens.
Our ward primary presentation is coming up fast
I sure hope we are ready in time~~I'll be glad when it is over and
we can all relax(especially the adults)
David is constantly busy job hunting.
with this economy who knows
Guess we will just tie a knot in our rope and HANG on!!!

Memorial Pine Valley Day!!!

We went up to Pine Valley for a Memorial Day Picnic~
It had actually snowed Monday morning
the high was like 57 degrees~AWESOME!!
The water was super cold
Justin and I had a contest to see who could keep their foot
in the water the longest~~He Won!!
Mostly because Kate and Amy were hanging on me!!
All was wonderful until Mom kicked a sharp rock
and sliced her toe open~ exactly one week since she crashed on her bike.
We stopped in Sam George at Bajio's . The bestest Mexican food .YUMM-O!!
A wonderful family getaway!! Much needed but way too short!!

I can't wait for SUMMER!!!

We used to have 5 fish. Slowly they all disappeared. All of them except a lonely fish named Mesothelioma. This fish progressed to a point that the others had not reached. This fish gained strengths that the other fish were incapable of. These strengths allowed him a chance at survival. The others didn't have a choice. Their fate was layed out before them.They would all die. So this is what happened.
Meso was named after a rare cancerous disease.

Well our little debate guru has done it again.
He took fourth place in the district competition this year.
Quite a feat for a sophomore. We are so proud!!
And just a little glad that we don't have to cart him all the
way to Nationals--even though they are in Vegas this year.

The week we Chandlers(T.V. junkies extraordinaire)

National NO T.V. week!! AAAGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
This year even our littlest mushroom is in the system.
She's the one who so enjoys morning cartoons with breakfast.
Especially since she doesn't have kindergarten till the afternoon!!
She has decided to give it a try though but only because they will
be drawing for PRIZES!!!! Wish us LUCK~~ maybe we will
take some pic's of all the fun family activities we get to share together.
MOM will be tuning into her evening shows after all the kiddies are in

We had the most wonderful opportunity this afternoon,
we got to go to the Las Vegas temple and see our dear
friends get sealed for time and all eternity to eachother
and then to their 3 beautiful children.
This family has had many struggles and it is so AWESOME

Of course in order to go to the sealing--
We had to miss Stewart and Jennifers Baby girl shower

On Saturday we went over to Grandpa's house
to take a much needed desert excursion.
We had such a good time and gathered many tasty desert morsels.
Our little Katya actually LOVED them.
She ate, and ate, and ate!
She's even our picky one.
The girls and I came upon the whitewashed bones of animals
Amy took one home to show her school teacher.
We think it was the jawbone of a goat(teeth intact and everything)
COOL!!
It felt to me like a trip into my childhood.
I remember many sunny bumpy rides in the back of Dad's truck.
Great fun to share the joy of the journey with my little ones!!

MVHS Jazz Band Travels To Hawaii

	Kylea McMurray Moapa Valley Progress Submitted Mar. 26, 2008 Members of the Moapa Valley High School (MVHS) Jazz Band traveled to Hawaii last week for their annual trip. Each year the band travels for a week to play and experience a different place. This year the band was eagerly looking forward to visiting Hawaii. The group had opportunities to visit a number of exciting places while on their trip. One of the first was Pearl Harbor Memorial. “Everyone was a	The Moapa Valley High School Jazz Band traveled to Hawaii last week for their annual trip.
	little somber, but very respectful while we were at Pearl Harbor,” said band director Kim Delgadillo. “Everyone learned a lot about history, and a few of the students had an opportunity to meet some Pearl Harbor Survivors.” “Pearl Harbor was pretty neat,” said Lyndsay Frehner. “There was so much history there, and we had the chance to learn things about what happened at Pearl Harbor that you never learn unless you go there.” The band also had a chance to hike to the top of Diamond Head, a huge volcanic crater on the islands. The group had to hike up a steep cliff for about 1.5 miles, but most of them said that the view was worth the hike. “You could see most of the island, it was really a cool view,” said senior student Cody McCracken. The band also saw most of the islands while on the Circle Island Tour. They had a chance to tour the Dole Pinapple farm, and a Macademia nut farm. “We got to see some of the most famous surf areas in the world, including the Pipeline while on the tour,” said Delgadillo. They stopped for a picnic lunch at a park on the north side of the island. Delgadillo said, “The ocean was on one side of us, and there was a beautiful mountain on the other side of us, it was great!” One of the band’s favorite stops was the Polynesian Cultural Center. “The Polynesian Cultural Center was very educational,” said Kim Delgadillo. “We learned about New Zealand, Tahiti, Samoa, Hawaii, Marquez, and Fuji. We got to go to an official luau and we watched a fabulous show in the evening.” “The cultural center was so fun,” said band member, Lyndsay Frehner. “They were having a canoe celebration, so they had canoes from a bunch of different islands and countries, and each canoe had people in different costumes, doing dances from their island. We also had a luau, where we ate a pig that had been roasted in a pit in the ground, it was good!” Another of the band’s favorite experiences was a catamaran ride. A catamaran is a small boat used for tours of the ocean. “It was an awesome hour boat ride,” said Delgadillo. “We saw a whale spout and a sea turtle. The captain of our catamaran loved our students so much that he stopped the boat and let a few of them jump into the ocean for a little while.” “The catamaran was really fun,” said Cody McCracken. “I was afraid it would be boring, but we got out there in the ocean, and some of the big waves started splashing up onto our boat, and it was a real adventure.” The group also performed while in Hawaii. Their last performance was at the Ala Moana Mall. “We had a huge crowd at the mall, and everyone was really complimentary of our group,” said Delgadillo. Overall, Delgadillo felt like the trip was a great success, thanks to the good behavior of her students. “On a couple of occasions other adults came to me and commented on how well behaved our group was. The students were very well behaved. It was a fabulous trip!”

we are all still alive and well.
time "MARCH"es on.
busy, busy, busy.
the twins have a campout this weekend.
josh is debating friday and saturday.
it will be just us girls (plus daddy) for movie night.
beautiful weather all around.
i think spring has sprung.
the wind is crazy though.
josh is also talking in sacrament meeting on sunday.

One of my thirteen year old boys got an award for winning first place in a essay writing contest for our local VFW post. He also won a $50 check for doing so. Can you guess which twin did win? Here's a clue--He's rather thin but thinks he's phat!! Results to be posted at a later date.
